Monday is the clearer outdoor window this bank holiday: sunny intervals, 20°C, with crowds and Metro on Sunday times. The funfair runs through Monday. The sea is about 15°C. If you swim, watch Cullercoats.

Travel

Metro resumed South Gosforth–South Hylton/South Shields from 07:24 on Friday 28 August. Ticket acceptance on Stagecoach, Arriva and Go North East stays in the affected area until regular frequency. Northumberland Park lift still out since 26 August. Travel North East.

Tide Tour 300 is in its last days. Go North East says it runs through 31 August. Travel NE says it is withdrawn from Sunday 30. Check the app. Go North East 300.

Metro runs a Sunday frequency on bank-holiday Monday.
