Sunday 30 August: Keep It Shields Day & Night at King Street Social Club, from 1pm, in the concert hall above the club. Linskill Centre on Linskill Terrace is open; next dated hall event is Friday 2 October. The Exchange 1856 on Howard Street has nothing dated this weekend; next show is Friday 11 September. Laurels Theatre is no longer on Whitley Road.

Shields Ferry runs between North Shields and South Shields. Times: Nexus ferry.

Yellow line to North Shields. Shields Ferry is down at the river. Stephenson Steam Railway is at Middle Engine Lane, nearer Percy Main Metro.
