Tynemouth Metro drops you under the station roof. Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August the market is there, 9am–3:30pm. Not Monday.

Longsands sea temperature is 15.1°C. Wetsuit water. North Pier is still shut (Chronicle, 25 August). Friday max 20°C; rain about 30% at 11am, then 70–80% mid-afternoon. Sunday is wet, 17°C. Monday 31 is the clearer outdoor window: sunny intervals, 20°C, with bank-holiday crowds and Metro on Sunday times.

Next dated weekend: Tynemouth Food Festival, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026, 10am–5pm, at Tynemouth Priory and Castle. Adult tickets £5 plus booking fee. 15 and under free with an adult. Source: North Tyneside Council, 20 Aug 2026.

Tynemouth Priory Theatre on Percy Street — the indoor amateur theatre, not the castle ruins — opens its 2026/27 season with Whisky Galore, 21–26 September. Individual tickets £12 Tuesday to Saturday / £10.50 Monday.
